Hi there — we’re Aran Hufen Ia!

We’re a family-run ice cream business based in the beautiful Welsh town of Bala and everything we do is about turning ordinary days into something a little more joyful.

What started as a dream for a slower, more meaningful life quickly became a passion for making incredible ice cream by hand, using local Welsh milk, natural ingredients, and no shortcuts. Our signature flavour, Honeycomb, is made completely from scratch, the old-fashioned way, and it’s still a favourite to this day.

We opened our first shop in Bala in 2019, and since then we’ve grown into a community hub where families, walkers, and locals stop in for a treat and a chat.

To bring a little taste of joy to your day, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.

We believe ice cream should be slow-churned, thoughtfully made, and shared. That’s why we support our local schools and sports clubs, offer fun family activities, and keep things down-to-earth and honest. We're proud to be part of this rural community and we’re here for the long haul.
