The First Drop

When you don't know what to say, send cookies.

Baked by hand in Bala, posted anywhere in the UK. The first drop is ten boxes.

There are weeks where you need to say something and nothing you type into a phone will get near it.

She's had a baby and hasn't slept in nine days. He's moved into a flat where he can't find the kettle. She's finished treatment and everyone's gone quiet because nobody knows whether to say congratulations. He's started a job he's terrified of. She's just broken up with her boyfriend and you're two hundred miles away.

You can send flowers, which die. You can send a card, which gets read once.

Or you can send six cookies, baked that morning in a small kitchen in Bala, with whatever you actually wanted to say written on a card by hand.

What's in the box?

Six cookies, all made here, none of them bought in from anywhere.

Welsh cake cookie, currants and mixed spice, rolled in sugar while still warm, because that's how a Welsh cake should arrive.

Honey and sea salt, glazed the second it leaves the oven.

Chocolate chip, which is the one everyone eats first.

Who we are:

I'm Sammi and together with me team we've made ice cream in Bala since 2019, mostly for people on their holidays and for the lovely lot who live here. It works beautifully for about four months a year and then stops.

So we started baking. Same kitchen, same refusal to cut corners.

We're here to give people a bit of joy through sweet things, and to send it further than Bala.

Ten boxes in the first drop. Once they're gone, that's it until the next one.

The list gets told first, and it opens next week. Put your email in below and you'll know before anyone else does.
